You are very welcome again to my blog. Today I'll be discussing a widely used tool. I will be talking about podcasts. I'm sure we all have some vague ideas about podcasting. Many of us actually enjoy listening to podcasts while doing various activities. But, what about creating them?

First, let me introduce our new task to you. This time we needed to create a podcast by choosing the most appropriate option for us. So, my friend Tuğrul Dölen and I decided to prepare a sound rich story. We basically needed to add real sounds of the details of our story while narrating it.

The first thing that I can say about the process of completing our task is that it was definitely quite tough. Initially, we prepared a story that we could equip with different sounds. Then we divided the text into two by assigning different parts to each. We tried to fix the problematic parts after that. Then we searched for proper sound effects. And finally, we tried to find a proper podcast application that would meet our requirements. It was pretty hard to manage all of these at the same time. That caused us to be a little stressed; however, we loved the product.

I think I would give a similar task to my students; I would make them complete a simple task while creating podcasts. I must accept that podcast preparation is definitely hard. However, I would love them to gain such an ability, especially in such a technological era. That would be nice for them to learn the basics of something that they come across every day. That would also obviously help them develop their speaking skills. I want to ask the same question to everyone: would you assign such a homework to your students, and why?
